This month’s designer spotlight is on Aerin. The global luxury lifestyle brand was founded by Aerin Lauder and purveys everything from beautiful vases to glamorous jewellery boxes to stylish candle holders to top-of-the-range cheese boards.
With a flair for all things chic, multimillionaire Aerin is the granddaughter of Estée Lauder, and was thus always inspired by refinement, having been born into a design dynasty.
Aerin develops curated collections in the worlds of beauty, fashion, accessories and home décor – her home lines are centred on her own lifestyle which blends the classic with the modern where every piece is created to make life more beautiful with a sense of ease.
The idea behind an Aerin piece is to imbue “a mix of the traditional and the contemporary but always remain liveable”. With that, Aerin has mastered timeless décor.
In a past interview Aerin weighed in on her design process and ethos in entertaining at her home: “I love discovering new materials and mixing them in different ways. I love to create spaces where people can congregate and just enjoy each other’s company.”
Our favourite pieces by Aerin at Tanagra run the gamut of beautiful homeware. What is considered ordinary and every day, Aerin raises to extraordinary. The Shagreen Pencil Cup, embossed in shagreen with brass detailing at the base is the perfect piece to keep your home office organised – especially with #workfromhome still reigning strong.
The gold Mirabelle Cachepot is another scene-stealer. The gorgeously curved design was inspired by seashells and has a textured finish to give it added character. Equally so, the Valentina Velvet Frame is a romantic and luxurious gift for that special someone, or indeed a notable addition to your bookshelf.
One of the most symbolic pieces, true to Aerin’s love of craftsmanship and intricate design, is the Paola Vase. Made by artisans in Italy, the vase has a hand-painted gold rim and stands tall in its own right or with long-stemmed flowers.
